2017 Columbus Day Scholastic

Registration: NO ONSITE REGISTRATION unless already a Morton Arboretum member.  Please register at www.KingRegistration.com under Fox Valley Chess Club.

BONUS: Families receive that day’s admission to the arboretum and free parking with at least one paid advance entry into the tournament!

Details:

• Entry fee discounts to our valued ICA members!
• All equipment is provided – no worries!
• Open to the K-12 & home-schooled communities
• Dual-rated by US Chess (Regular & Quick) with a non-rated section for those not yet part of USCF

Format: 

Four Rounds, Game/30; 5-second delay -- Trophies to top four in each section 

plus additional “under” prizes – and combined section team trophies

Check-in: 9:00 - 9:15am

Rounds: 9:30am, 10:50am, 12:20pm, 1:40pm -- done by 3 pm

5 SECTIONS:

• Rated Open Scholastic, Rated Under 1000, Rated Under 750, Rated Under 500 & Non-Rated
• Rated sections require active USCF membership
• Trophies to top four in each section with additional “under” prizes in each section: top U375 in U500, top U625 in U750, top U875 in U1000, etc.
• 72 players maximum, which means sections will likely have no more than 16 players, sign up early!

ENTRY FEE:

• Add $5 to entry fee if not a current ICA member
• $20 for ICA members thru Saturday 9/30
• $25 for ICA members thru Thursday 10/5
• $35 for all after 10/5 IF SPACE AVAILABLE
• Onsite registration to existing Morton Arboretum members only, please arrive by 9:15 am
• ALL must arrive at Sycamore Room near Visitors Center by 9:15 am to be paired in first round, otherwise ½ point bye

Fox Valley Chess Club meets Tuesdays at the Aurora Turners Club. The Morton Arboretum is a special event and not our usual meeting place.
