Description

free tournament for ages 14 and under -- no US Chess membership is required and this tournament will NOT be rated by US Chess -- but will generally follow USCF Rules.

18 Trophies!

Sections: Grades K-2, Grades 3-5 and Grades 6-8 (14 & under)

Note: Parents, high schoolers or advanced juniors)are welcome to play in the OPEN SECTION.  See listing elsewhere on ICA site here.

Format: 5-rounds, non-elimination

Time Control: Game/20; 5-second delay

If game begins without a clock due to availability, tournament director may place a clock with 5-minutes or 10-minutes per side for remainder of the game.

All sets are provided, please bring clocks for the Juniors Division if you understand how to set your own clock.

Limited to 24 entries per section -- so register early!

Due to generous sponsorships this is a FREE EVENT -- Please support Chicago Public Library Foundation – Lozano Programs.

On-site Registration: 9:15am to 9:45am

Tournament Play: will begin at 10am

Juniors should finish by 3pm with awards.

Library doors open 9:00 am – please pre-register online by Friday and check-in by 9:45 am Saturday or else register in person no later than 9:30 am Saturday to assure first round pairing.
