ICA to Form Veterans Committee - Volunteers Sought

The ICA Executive Board has approved the formation of a Veterans Committee whose goal is to improve the opportunity for Illinois military veterans to learn, play, and enjoy the game of chess.

Carl Dolson, President of the ICA, has appointed Michael Lenox, a retired Navy veteran, to chair the Committee. Michael says that the game of chess was instrumental in helping him recover from a stroke suffered 10 years ago.

Now, in addition to leading two chess clubs, and serving as President of the Southwest Chicago Chess Club, Michael brings chess to the Hines and Jesse Brown VA Hospitals, as a therapy tool for veterans recovering from injury and illness.

The ICA is seeking volunteers wanting to serve on the Veterans Committee. If you'd like to be a member of the ICA Veterans Committee, please contact Michael at This email address is being protected from spambots. Military service is not a requirement of appointment to the committee.
