The sign of any good chess tournament is competitive play -- and there was plenty of that in the very first tournament hosted by the Kankakee Chess Club, July 15.

Three players, Evan Gresen, Ryan Santoro and Tim Lund all managed 3.0/4 scores.

The event was directed by Austin Earsley with whom the ICA would love to chat!

11 players competed in the event.

Craig Goodwin finished in fourth place with a 2.5 score, drawing co-champion Santoro in the penultimate round.
