The Illinois Youth Invitationals, sponsored by the Illinois Chess Association, took place on April on April 6th-7th,2019. Featuring 3 sections, the Denker, the Barber, and a Girls K-12 tournament, it showcased some of the strongest junior talent in Illinois.

The Illinois Denker is a state qualifying tournament for the National Denker which is a national tournament to determine the best high school boy in the country. The Barber is an invitational tournament for the best scholastic player in grades K-8. The Girls K-12 tournament is an invitational tournament for the best girls in grades K-12.
