Illinois State University Bone Student Center, 100 N. University St, Normal, IL.  USCF rated; USCF membership is required.  7-round swiss for each section.  Sections: GRADES K-1  G/30; GRADES 2-3  G/45;   GRADES 4-5 G/60; GRADES 6-8 G/60.

Schedule: Friday, March 8: Check in and Late Payment 7:00-9:00 P.M.

March 8, 2013, Illinois K-8 Chess Blitz & Bughouse Tournament - Illinois State University Bone Student Center.  Please register and pay online at bnasc.org by Saturday March 2.  The entry fee is $10 by March 2.  Late registration will be on Friday from 5:30 to 6:15 P.M. with a late registration fee of $20.00.  Fee includes both blitz and bughouse.  Schedule: Blitz from 6:30 to 8 P.M. 5 Rounds SS; Bughouse from 8 to 9 P.M. or when complete, Awards Ceremony.  5 rounds SS. Saturday, March 9: Check-in Time: 8:00-9:30 A.M.  Round starting times K-1 Section:  10:00, 12:30, 2:00, and 3:30; Round starting times 2-3 Section:  10:00, 1:00, 3:00, and 5:00; Round starting times:  4-5 & 6-8 Sections:  10:00, 12:45, 3:15, and 5:45;

Sunday, March 10: Round starting times K-1 Section:  9:00, 10:30, 12:30 trophies ASAP; Round starting times 2-3 Section:  9:00, 11:00, 1:00 trophies ASAP; Round starting times: 4-5 & 6-8 Sections:  9:00, 11:30, 2:00 trophies ASAP.  Prizes: Trophies to top 25 individuals in each section; Trophies to top 10 teams in each section; Trophies to top 2 in each grade; Class trophies for top 2 in several classes in each section. Each participant will receive a commemorative ribbon.

Entry fee: $35 per player received by Saturday, March 2. Please register online at bnasc.org.  If your registration and payment cannot be completed by March 2, then the late registration fee is $50.00 and payment must be received by 9:00 P.M. Friday evening, March 8, 2011.  Late registration will be available on Friday, March 8, from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the ISU Bone Student Center.  All money including registration and USCF membership fees are to be completed before the day of the tournament.  No new registrations will be accepted on Saturday!! If you want to mail your registration, please make your check payable to Bloomington/Normal Area Scholastic Chess and mail to Fred Schmidt, 304 Vista Drive Bloomington IL 61701.   Include the following information: name, grade, school, town of school, USCF number, address, phone number, and email address.   

Side events Friday: Blitz Tournament 6:30-8:00 P.M. & Bughouse Tournament 8:00-9:30 P.M.   

Other information: Players must come from the state of Illinois.  Top four players count toward team score.  No club teams.  No byes last round.  Byes for any single round must be requested before the end of the first round.  Only one bye allowed for tournament.  All other rules/regulations shall be in accordance to ICA By-laws and the USCF Rulebook.  For information see BNASC.org.  Special Note: USCF JTP will be allowed in K-1 and 2-3 Sections.  Marriott Hotel, 201 Broadway, Normal, IL, call (309)862-9000.   Hotel is close to train station and is three to four blocks from tournament site.   Other hotel information:
