In the K-12 Championship division, the very best section of SuperNationals VI concluded May 14, Illinois won 11 individual trophies and three team awards.

Alex Bian, Matthew Stevens and Marissa Li all posted 5.0's, tying for 18th place. Alex received the 19th place trophy while Matthew and Marissa nabbed "tied for 25th" hardware.

Whitney Young (Chicago) earned the 14th place team trophy while New Trier (Winnetka) nabbed 15th place and Naperville North earned 17th.

Illinois also earned eight "class prizes" in the K-12 Championship section:

Alex Lim of Neuqua Valley High School (Naperville) won the top award for players rated 1800-1899 with his 4.5 performance. 

Patrick Kut of Andrew (Tinley Park) won the top trophy for players rated 1600-1699 thanks to his 4.0 performance, just ahead of Nathan Yamaguchi of New Trier with 3.5, earning second place.

10-year old Natalie Wisniowski of Chicago raised her rating into the 1600's thanks to her 3.5 performance, good enough to win top honors for players rated 1400-1499 coming into the event.

New Trier's Sawyer Harris posted the best score (4.0) for players rated 1300-1399, double that of his nearest competitor!

Saman Tabatabaee, also of New Trier, scored 2.5, tying for best performance for players rated 1200-1299, taking second on tiebreaks. 

Sawyer and Saman's teammate Brian Chung had the best score of players rated Under 1200 (3.5), with Edward Li of Whitney Young taking second place honors in that ratings class.

365 competed in the section while 5575 competed in SuperNationals VI overall.
