Thanks to the support of SBB Research Group and Chicago Public Schools Academic Chess we are able to provide no cost entry to Chicago Public School students and students from Title I low income – under resourced schools. Championship Sections: 4-SS, G/40,d5 Rounds: 10:00, 12:30, 2:30 & 4:30

Reserve & Novice Sections: 5-SS, G/25,d5 Rounds: 10:00, 12:00, 2:00, 3:30 & 5:00.

Awards Ceremony: 6:30 pm.

Entry Fee: $50 by 1/6; $65 by 1/27; $85 by 2/6, No entries allowed after 2/6 or onsite

Section Changes: $20 after 1/29, request online only by 2/16, onsite takes effect in round 2.

Refunds: $20 fee per registered player if requested by 2/6.

Byes: One ½-pt bye available, to include the final round, see website for details.

 

SECTIONS / AWARDS:

PRIMARY (K-4): Championship: open to all. Awards: top 5 players, top 2 schools.

Reserve U600: open to players rated Under 600. Awards: top 8 players, top 3 schools.

Novice U300: open to players rated Under 300 / Unrated. Awards: top 8 players, top 3 schools.

 

ELEMENTARY (K-6): Championship: open to all. Awards: top 5 players, top 2 schools. Reserve U800: open to players rated Under 800. Awards: top 8 players, top 3 schools.

Novice U400: open to players rated Under 400 / Unrated. Awards: top 8 players, top 3 schools.

 

JUNIOR HIGH (K-8): Championship: open to all. Awards: top 5 players, top 2 school. Reserve U1000: open to players rated Under 1000. Awards: top 8 players, top 3 schools. Novice U500: open to players rated Under 500 / Unrated. Awards: top 8 players, top 3 schools.

 

HIGH SCHOOL (K-12): Championship: open to all. Awards: top 5 players, top 2 school. Reserve U1100: open to players rated Under 1100 / Unrated. Awards: top 5 players, top 2 schools.

Any player who scores 4 or more points and doesn’t win an award will receive a medal!

 

CHICAGO’S OFFICIAL SCHOLASTIC CHAMPIONSHIP

The City of Chicago will recognize the top individual & team from Chicago in each Championship section as the City Champion
